[Flight attendant]Hilary’s Case

Surgery on February 29, 2019|Because of the work settings, flight attendants can wear only contact lenses, suffering in silence several episodes of corneal ulcer; the Zero-corneal-contact makes me free from any worry about consequent risk of corneal detachment resulted from foreign force impact.

Why does wearing contact lenses bother flight attendants?

Many people experienced eye dryness after wearing contact lenses for a long time, suffering in silence several episodes of corneal ulcer with much discomfort in the eyes, I’d not found it before my eyes turned much reddish, the physician certainly asked me to take a leave. Because flight attendants may not wear contact lenses on duty, I’ve been suspended from duty for one month, which caused me much inconvenience.

In fact, my eyes had been seriously damaged after wearing contact lenses the entire 16 hours of flight, but I’d like to continuously wear contact lenses for activities after getting off the plane, which resulted in repeatedly damaged cornea besides the unidentified ulcer.

Why did you choose WishVision to receive a Smart TransPRK?

Because of the Zero-contact provided by WishVision, I don’t have to worry about the consequent risk of corneal detachment due to foreign force impact. Some cases of corneal flap detachment have been still found, and I don’t want to get such an open wound.

What are the eye conditions of postoperative recovery and changes in life?

I feel my life turned colorful after the surgery, experiencing an entire renewal. For example, we always have to sleep during off duty in a long-distance flight, I used to remove contact lenses, finding the way in the dark to the bed and getting off, frequently moving with blurred vision. I finally found, for the first time after the surgery, oh my goodness! my world became so much clear, it’s extremely clear after I waked up!

Moreover, I used to go to the gym when staying at overseas stations, I’ll have to wear contact lenses even not staying long, it’s troublesome but have to because the glasses may keep slipping all the time when sweating. And I also love Bikram yoga, which makes me sweat all over the body too, after I received the Smart TransPRK, it doesn’t matter anymore! Now I feel much happier when get to the gym, no more any stuff on my face!

What do you want to say to the flight attendants still considering Laser Eye Surgery?

Because flight attendants must not wear glasses on duty, I’d suggest those who want to receive a PRK should pluck up the courage to do as soon as possible. I’ve been flying for 7 years, and it was much hard for me to wear contact lenses on duty during all those 7 years. I wish I could have done it during my first year on board to avoid those 7 hard years, it’s really convenient!
